Florida’s Department of Health has created an informative flyer to promote its awareness campaign relative to the Zika virus. The two-page flyer addresses methods to minimize the risk of mosquito bites, as well as ways to reduce mosquito breeding.
As of Thursday, July 21, 2016, the number of travel-related Zika cases in Broward County is at 50, the second highest count in Florida behind Miami-Dade County (92). Broward County’s count is up 30 cases since June 13, 2016.
An additional resource for information is the Broward County Mosquito Control Division, which continues their ongoing proactive mosquito control and awareness program via their Broward County webpage and social media (Facebook and Twitter). Their webpage includes a link to request mosquito spraying, or, if it’s more convenient, you may call them at (954) 765-4062.
