Would your child like a patient, attentive friend to read to? Read with Dogs provides an opportunity for your child to read to registered therapy dogs in a relaxed atmosphere. The dogs sit calmly and quietly for a story. Children can practice reading out loud without fear of judgement. It's a great way for children to gain confidence in their reading.

You can find book discussion groups almost everywhere these days -- in bookstores, community centers, private homes, online, and at the Richard C. Sullivan Public Library of Wilton Manors. While for some, reading is a solitary activity, many find their appreciation and pleasure of a book broadened and deepened through discussion.
If you have a love for reading, and want to interact on an intellectual level and engage in interesting conversation, check out our Island City Book Club.
