Unacceptable Waste

Paint, pesticides, household cleaners, lawn & garden chemicals, auto batteries, pool chemicals, propane tanks, motor oil, solvents, auto fluids, fire extinguishers, tires and mercury thermometers are considered household hazardous waste items that should not be disposed of with your regular garbage.  These items can be dropped off at Broward County’s Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center at 2780 N Powerline Road (just north of Copans Road).  They are open every Saturday from 8:00am to 4:00pm.  This Collection Center also accepts computers, monitors, keyboards, printers, televisions, fax machines, cell phones and rechargeable batteries for recycling.  This service is free for Wilton Manors residents (proof of residency is required).  For further information, please contact Broward County Waste and Recycling Services at (954) 765-4999.

Prescription medications should not be flushed down the toilet; instead, please follow these prescription drug disposal guidelines provided by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.
