Development Review Boards

The Community Development Services Department provides administrative support to the City’s Development Review Committee (DRC), the Board of Adjustment (BOA) and the Planning and Zoning Board (PZB) through the Neighborhood Planning Division.

 Development Review Committee

The Development Review Committee is composed of representatives of the various City departments having a direct interest in new development. 

The committee may make a statement to the Planning and Zoning Board, Board of Adjustment and City Commission assessing the adequacy of the proposal as to all City codes and ordinances.  The Committee generally meets the first Monday of every month to review development applications.

Planning and Zoning Board

The Planning and Zoning Board is the planning agency for the city. The Board also hears applications for rezoning and re-platting and makes their recommendation to the City Commission. The Board approves site plans and makes recommendation to the City Commission regarding the site plans.  The board meets on the Monday following the first Tuesday of each month in the City Hall at 7:00 p.m.

Board of Adjustment

The Board of Adjustment was created for the purpose of hearing the administrative appeals of persons affected by a decision of the zoning officials and to provide relief from unnecessary hardship imposed by a literal enforcement of the Zoning Code.  The Board meets on an as-need basis.
