Parks & Recreation Advisory Board

The Recreation Advisory Board makes recommendations to the City Commission regarding the acquisition, development, maintenance of parks, parkways and playgrounds in the City. The employment of parks and recreation personnel (i.e., playground leaders, playground directors, supervisors, recreational superintendents, etc.) establishes rules and regulations for the operation of City recreational facilities and for fees to be charged to the public for the use of city facilities. 

Recreation Advisory Board meetings are held on the third Thursday Bi-monthly.

If you are interested in serving on the Recreation Advisory Board, fill out the application, linked below, and submit to the City Clerk's Office, at  The Recreation Advisory Board does not have residency requirements however it is strongly preferred if applicants have a professional background in parks, recreation programing, park planning, etc. 

Board/Committee Application 

When there is a board opening applicants will be asked to attend the City Commission Meeting to introduce themselves to the Commission prior to selection and appointment.  Applications are held for one (1) year, expiring at the end of each calendar year.

 Any member of the public wishing to comment publicly on any matter may participate by:
- Submitting Public Comment via email:  PRIOR to the start of the meeting, submit comments by email to . Please include your name and address in the email. All comments submitted by email comment length shall be, if read orally, three (3) minutes or less.  Public Comment received by 5:30pm prior to the start of the meeting will be read into the record by the Clerk.  All other comments submitted by email prior to the start of the meeting shall be made a part of the public record.
- Participating in Meeting: Log-in to Zoom via browser, app or phone.  During Public Comment portion of the agenda use Raise Hand feature to be called on.  Raise Hand feature can be activated by selecting the icon.
