Late in 2019, the City Commission approved the Urban Form and Density Report findings, which were a result of a study undertaken by the City’s consultant, Calvin Giordano and Associates (CGA). The report was the culmination of a process that included substantial public outreach and solicitation of perspectives.
The next step is for CGA to assist the City in writing regulations that will change the face of our transit oriented corridors - Andrews Avenue, Oakland Park Boulevard, Wilton Drive, Dixie Highway, and NE 26th Street- in order to allow for and encourage higher density development on those corridors.
In order to provide details on the project, and to solicit additional input, CGA has created three short but informative videos. The first video provides a background on the upcoming zoning and land use changes and an overview of the urban form and density report. The second two videos are specific to the TOC-West rezoning, and potential land use and zoning changes for the eastern TOC’s and A&E district.
Please watch the videos, and then respond to the survey.
CGA will be providing a a presentation on the effort at the August 25, 2020 City Commission meeting and two subsequent live webinars specifically aimed at the TOC-W are planned.
